Obituary:

Dell Ward Smith, age 95, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away July 5, 2005 at Elder Care in Marble Hill.

She was born December 18, 1909 in Glen Allen, MO, daughter of William F. and Nellie Goodson Underwood. She first married Buford E. Ward and he passed away on April 10, 1957, she then married Kline Smith on Dec. 24, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2001.

She owned and operated Ward’s Cafe, was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Marble Hill, and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include; one son; Gene Ward, Marble Hill, two grandsons Robert Ward, Colorado Spring Colorado, Timothy Ward, Cape Girardeau, two great grandchildren Beau Ward and Kelliann Hamel both of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gilbert Underwood, three sisters, Ethel Whitener, Versie Martin, Jewell Miller and one granddaughter Tamara Ward Morehouse.

Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2005.

Funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
