Obituary:

Roy Elbert Sitze, 88, of Advance died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 9, 1920, at Arab, Mo., son of Emanuel Jacob and Susan Ethel Fish Sitze. He and Charlotte Evelyn Cox were married March 30, 1956. She died in August 1977. He and Hazel Payne were married in February 1979. She died May 2, 2002.

Sitze was a retired farmer and had worked as a supervisor at Union Tankcar Co. in Wood River, Ill., 20 years. He was a member of Bethalto Masonic Lodge 406. He was a former member and deacon at Bethel General Baptist Church in Bethalto, Ill. He was a current member of Zalma General Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia Shirrell of Zalma, Mo.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to service time Sunday at Morgan Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Phil Warren and Keith Price officiating. Private burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill, Mo.
