Obituary:

Monte Rey Ariola, age 84, of West Plains, MO, and formerly of Marble Hill, MO, passed away Monday, March 27, 2006 at the West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains, MO.

He was born April 25, 1921 in Clay County Arkansas son of Monte Zuma and Georgia R. Vines Ariola. He and Evelyn Martha McDonald were married on March 15, 1942 and she preceded him in death on November 18, 1989.

He worked as a Cabinet Maker, a member of the DAV Chapter 4 in Poplar Bluff and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He served his country proudly during WWII in the United States Army where he earned a Purple Heart.

Survivors include; one son, Charles Ariola, Mountain View, MO, four daughters, Rebecca Osborne, Springfield, MO, Juanita Wiggins, Charleston, SC, Ida Gwaltney, West Plains, MO, Ramona McGill, Webb City, MO, two brothers, Joe Ariola, Steelville, MO, Jack Ariola of the State of Florida, one sister Juanita Madrid, of the state of Colorado, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Raymond, Floyd, two daughters Georgianne Gilliam, Elizabeth Ariola, three brothers Charles, Bill, Floyd, and one sister.

Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2006 from 11:00 to 1:30 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Graveside Services will be Friday at 2:00 PM at the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Wells officiating.
