Eathel Maurine Clay, age 84, of Marble Hill, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at her residence.

She was born June 27, 1922 in Dexter, MO daughter of Roger and Lessie Marie Brashear Peck Vaughn. She and Franklin Leonard Clay were united in marriage on June 27, 1963.

Mrs. Clay’s felt her greatest achievement was when she received her Diploma from the Palmer College. When she was younger she was very active in a Bowling League, a Basketball League, and a Contest Dancer, her greatest enjoyment was the gathering she would have with her family and friends, and she loved to cook and loved being call Nan by her grandchildren.

She worked for the Fansteel Factory in Northern Chicago, IL for 20 years; she was a member of the United Steel Workers for over 20 years, was a Hospital Volunteer and was a member of the New Sylvan General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her Husband, Franklin of Marble Hill, two sons, Allan L. Clay of Rango, GA, Steven J. Clay of Newport, North Carolina, two daughters, Frances Ann Foster of Cedar Hill, MO, Brenda Fay Stanley of Morley, MO, three sisters Nadine Thornhill of Grassy, MO, Janice Ann Hays of Scopus, Martha Jill of Perryville, MO, twenty two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Linda Kay Stanley, one brother Roger Merle Vaughn, one sister Mildred Louise Vaughn and one grandson Cord Lynn Eaker.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the Liley Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home with the Rev. Sheldon Owen and Rev. Gene Robbins officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
