Obituary:

Christopher Scott Liley, age 52, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 28, 1963 in Cape Girardeau, MO; son of W. Kenneth and Judith Charlene Dettmer Liley. He and Christa Barker were united in marriage on December 6, 1997.

Chris was Vice President of Liley Family Enterprises, a past president of the Mid-America Monument Builders Association (MAMBA), Member of the Monument Builders of North America, a Licensed Missouri Funeral Director and member of the Missouri Funeral Directors Association. He was also a Charter member of the Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, played guitar for the church choir and a member of the Bluegrass group Cabin Fever.

Chris loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family and especially his granddaughters.

Survivors include; his wife Christa of the home; sons Joshua William Liley of St. Charles, MO; Adam Christopher (Nikki) Liley of Marble Hill; Joey (Jamie) Schag of Plano, IL; Jason Schag of Cape Girardeau; daughter Danielle Monique (Matt) Torbet of Cape Girardeau; father Kenneth (Judy) Liley of Marble Hill; mother Judith (Tom) Scott of Ballwin, MO; grandmother Dorothy Dettmer of Fredericktown, MO; brothers Michael Lynn (Tammy) Liley of Marble Hill; Eric (Lisa) Scott of O’Fallon, MO; Aaron (Molly) Scott of Medford, OR; sisters Sherri (Jim) Michaels of St. Louis, MO; Kim (Bob) Besterfeldt of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Alivia, Bella and Bentley Liley; Charlee & Cameron Schag; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and a friend of many.

He was preceded in death by a child.

Chris and his family would like to thank Dr. Pewitt, Dr. Aranha and the Staff at the Saint Francis Cancer Institute. In Lieu of Flowers memorials are requested for the Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Friday, June 19, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church with Rev. Monnie Jones, Rev. Naamon Eaker and Rev. Fred Ritter officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park near Marble Hill.
