Obituary:

Avery Rosewell Crites, Jr., 93, of Marble Hill, MO, died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Sikeston, MO.

He was born May 30, 1915 at Lutesville, MO, son of Avery Rosewell and Sadie Ellen Hahn Crites. He and Freda Mae James were united in Marriage on June 1, 1935 and she died June 26, 2007.

Mr. Crites was a retired Oil Distributor for the Standard Oil Company, a former Mayor of Lutesville, a Lutesville volunteer Firefighter, a former member of the Lutesville City Council and a member of the Marble Hill First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son; Larry (Liz) Crites, Cortland, OH, two daughters; Joan (Chuck) Grant, Sikeston, MO, Fay (Mike) Seabaugh, Mountain Home, AR, a brother John E. Crites, Cape Girardeau, MO, a sister Viola Mayfield, Advance, MO, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Cleo Long.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. The funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Ritter and grandchildren; Todd and Brad Seabaugh, Chip and Bart Grant officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Crites Family Mausoleum in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
