Obituary:

Leon Junior Campbell, age 79 of Marble Hill, MO, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at his residence.

He was born March 3, 1926 at Park Hills, MO, son of William Preston and Edith Hart Campbell. He and Ruby Duncan were married Dec. 18, 1948 in Patton, MO at the Patton Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Campbell worked for the Doe Run Mining Company for several years, and was a member of the Point Pleasant General Baptist Church.

He served his country proudly during WW II in the 42 Rainbow Division were he earned a Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife Ruby, one son; Michael William Campbell, Glen Allen, MO, two daughters; Sherry Green, Marble Hill, Carol Rhodes, Cape Girardeau, one brother James Campbell, Park Hills, MO, one sister Leona Sherman, Bellville, IL, 3 grand children and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Charles, and two sisters Irene Meador, and Geraldine Gerstenschlager.

Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev Gene Robbins and Rev Bud Armstrong officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Missouri Honor Guard.
