Obituary:

Ernest T. McConnell, age 84, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away on April 5, 2013 at his residence.

He was born September 10, 1928 in Providence, KY; son of Ernest Taylor and Myrtle Lee Hall McConnell. He and Anna Alice Elliot were married on September 3, 1948 and she passed away on February 23, 1996.

Mr. McConnell loved Alaska where he retired after 24 years for the Alaska Marine Highway, a member of the White Oak Baptist Church and served proudly for 24 years in the United States Coast Guard.

Survivors include sons David Stanley (Mary) McConnell of Marble Hill; and Daniel Lee (Colleen) McConnell of Kenai, AK; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Theresa McConnell and a sister Davida Quinn.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 4:30 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Meek and Dr. John Englehart officiating, burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill with full military honors.
