Obituary:

Evelyn Muriel Wilcox passed away at Elder Care of Marble Hill on September 4, 2008 at the age of 97. She was born on December 3, 1910, the daughter of William and Louise Bernheim Bonfield, in Elburn, Illinois.

She first married Louis Oestman. Later she wed Harry Selden who died in 1958. In 1960 she married St. Elmo Wilcox who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1982.

She was a member of the Marble Hill Study Club, General Federation of Womens' Club and help start in 1972 the Tri-City Senior Citizens Nutrition Program. She was the first cook for the center, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Marble Hill First Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Raymond (Darlene) Oestman of Gilbert, Ariz., and William Wilcox of Marble Hill; daughters: Muriel (Earl) Olsen of Palatine, Ill., JoAnn (Jack) Corcoran of Joliet, Ill., Lynne (Steve) Parker of Noblesville, Ind.; and a step-daughter, Joyce (Bill) Glass of Lake of the Four Seasons, Ind. Two daughters, Marilyn Mazola and Deborah Selden, preceded her in death. She was the grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill. Rev. Fred Ritter will officiate.
