Obituary:

Mattie E. Hahn, age 93, of Granite City, IL and formerly of Marble Hill, died Saturday August 26, 2005 at the Maryville Manor in Maryville, IL.

She was born in the Hurricane Fork Community of Bollinger County January 8, 1912 daughter of Peter L. and Amanda E. Welker Rhodes.

She and Jesse L. Hahn were married June 24, 1933 and he preceded her in death August 12, 1976.

Mrs. Hahn had worked as a seamstress for the Portney Dress Factory in Granite City and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Granite City and active in the ladies quilting club of the church.

Survivors include four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband Jesse Hahn, one son Joe Hahn, one daughter Diana Branaman, eight brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Thomas Saksa Funeral Home on Pontoon Rd, Granite City, and Monday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Luther Rhodes and Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
