Obituary:

John Jennings Wilkinson, age 83, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 30, 1930 in Patton, MO; son of Leslie and Louie Slinkard Wilkinson. He and Viola Pauline Angle were united in marriage on November 25, 1954.

John was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He attended Southeast Missouri State University. He later worked at Deavers Shoe Factory CO in Cape Girardeau, and was later employed at Lee Rowan, Inc. of Jackson for 26 years retiring as a Department Supervisor. He was a farmer and a member of the Little Whitewater Missionary Baptist Church.

He was also a past president of the Bollinger County Antique Tractor Club and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and riding four wheelers.

Survivors include his wife Pauline; sons Jennings (Barbara) Wilkinson; Wade (Amanda) Wilkinson of Marble Hill; daughter Gail (Rodney) Baker of Marble Hill; brother Franklin (Nelda) Wilkinson of Cape Girardeau, MO; sisters Janice Douglas of Ironton, MO; Lula Bell (Cletus) Angle of Jackson, MO; seven grandchildren Brittany (Jared) Lacy, Jodi (Devon) James, Adam, Sarah, Seth, Caleb, and Joshua Wilkinson and two great-grandchildren Zoie and Eli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Elijah Allen and Rev. Joe Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
