Obituary:

Ruth B. Hinkle, age 94, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; passed away, on Saturday, September 11, 2021, peacefully at Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born on August 4, 1927, in Gipsy, Missouri; the daughter of Noah Buford and Lillie Mae (Jackson) VanMatre. Ruth worked as a secretary for Insurance companies. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Byron Nelson Bollinger of Cape Girardeau, MO; Granddaughter Brittnie Leigh (Seth) Hudson of Cape Girardeau, MO; one great-granddaughter, Daphnie; and one sister Kay (Jerry) Smith of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah, and Lillie, one son Barny Bollinger, her first husband Nelson Bollinger, her second husband Melvin Hinkle, three brothers, Clint, JB, and Gene VanMatre, and two sisters, Freeda Huskey, and Shirley Bollinger. Visitation will be held at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 3pm until 7pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Marble Hill United Methodist Church at 11:00AM with Pastor Tim Zych officiating. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were under the care of Liley Funeral Homes.
