Obituary:

Charles O. Kent, 74, of Marble Hill died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at his home.

He was born July 16, 1927, at Bunker, Mo., son of James and Eliza Jane Copeland Kent. He and Maxine S. Wilcox were married Jan. 26, 1946.

Kent was a maintenance worker for Martin Marietta.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles "Butch" Kent of Festus, Mo., Randy Kent of Pevely, Mo.; five daughters, Betty Reece of Festus, Wanda Kent and Terri Keith of Marble Hill, Sue Koob of Bay View, Texas, Sherri Karnes of Pevely; three brothers, Ira Kent of Marble Hill, Riley Kent of Festus, Raymond Kent of Grand Junction, Colo.; a sister, Jackie Smithee of Craig, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
