Obituary:

Barney G. Bollinger, a construction worker, drowned Tuesday in Cape Girardeau. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born in Cape Girardeau on August 28, 1948, to the late Nelson Bollinger and Mrs. Ruth Van Matre Bollinger Hinkle of Marble Hill who survives. Mr. Bollinger was a member of the Marble Hill United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge Number 639 in Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Barry Bollinger of Cape Girardeau, MO; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis L. Bollinger of Marble Hill, MO; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Van Matre of Marble Hill, MO. Friends may call today at Ward-Liley Funeral Home in Lutesville where an Elks service will be held tonight. Funeral service will be held Thursday at the Marble Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend John Ferguson of Cape Girardeau officiating.
