Obituary:

Virginia Alta Marie Brown of Marble Hill, Mo., died April 19, 2007, at her home following a short illness. Born on March 18, 1927, near Glenallen, Mo., she was the daughter of William F. and Virgie May Sample Crites.

Virginia married Floyd E. Brown in Paragould, Ark., on Sept. 28, 1944. They raised three sons: Floyd Francis (Frankie), Jimmy and Dennis Brown. She worked outside the home several years. She worked at a shoe factory in Advance, Mo., as a sewer, as a cook for the Copper Skillet Restaurant and as her husband's assistant in the watch and jewelry repair shop in Lutesville.

Surviving her are two sons: Frankie of Valemyer, Ill., and Dennis of Marble Hill, Mo.; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Johnson of Marble Hill. Her son, Jimmy, predeceased her, as well as two brothers, Jerry and Bill Crites.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM followed by the service at 7. Revs. Micah Bristol, Darrell Faire, Sr. and Carl Stroder will officiate. Burial will be at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
