Dorothy Mae Swan, 88, of Marble Hill, Mo., died November 12, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born on May 25, 1925, near Grassy, she was the daughter of Louis and Lury Octavia Lyke Estes. She married John Swan who preceded her in death on March 29, 1980.

Dorothy retired after many years as an aide at the El Nathan Home in Marble Hill. She was a member of Cape First Assembly of God in Marble Hill.

She is survived by three children: Harold D. (Shirley) Swan of Maryland Heights, Mo., Ronnie C. Swan and Sandra Jean Horton, both of Marble Hill; a granddaughter, Malanie Brownlow; a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Mae; and a sister, Goldie (Bud) Guthrie, of Marble Hill.

Visitation will be today from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
