Obituary:

Kenneth R. Leimer, 66, of Jackson, MO, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Southeast Missouri hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 28, 1942, at Cape Girardeau, MO and is the eldest child born to Gilbert and Lela Trickey Leimer. He and Shirley Porter were united in marriage on March 4, 1989.

He graduated from Jackson High School in 1960, he then went to the Southeast Missouri University majoring in Chemistry. He later earned his PHD in chemistry at the University of Missouri and taught there several years. During the past 16 years he was employed by the city of Cape Girardeau were he retired on October 31, 2005.

Kenneth was an active member in the Hanover Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home, his father Gilbert Leimer of Jackson, a brother, Lee Leimer of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Angela Miller of Jackson, a niece and four nephews who continue to live in the area.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a nephew.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2009, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Anthony Kobak officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO.
