Obituary:
Jewell B. Filer age 97 of Marble Hill, MO, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at her residence.
She was born October 20, 1918 in Lutesville, MO; daughter of William and Lucinda Fowler Beasley. She and Lester Floyd “Red” Filer were united in marriage on September 5, 1936 and he passed away on September 22, 1992.
She graduated from the Saint Francis School of Nursing and went to work for Dr. Myers in 1960 and then in 1962 went to work for Dr. John Englehart until she retired at the age of 65. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club, Bible Study Fellowship, Ladies Exercise Club and Mrs. Jean said she was in-charge of laughter because laughter was good for the soul and she was a member of the Marble Hill Bible Chapel.
Jewell was a strong Christian Woman with a spiritual gift of helping others. There was not a day that went by that she didn’t do an act of kindness for someone. So many were blessed who knew Jewell, and more than anything she loved Jesus, her family and to laugh.
