Obituary:

Edwin R. Upchurch, age 83, of Pacific, MO, died Monday, May 17, 2004, at his home.

He was born November 7, 1920 at Scopus, MO, son of Ralph Edgar and Rada Ellen Thomason Upchurch.

Mr. Upchurch was a former high school principal for St. Clair School District and superintendent with Pacific and Delta school Districts. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; three sons, Gregory Upchurch of St. Louis, Gordon Upchurch of Washington, MO, Randy Upchurch of the State of Florida; two brothers, Medford and Milford Upchurch of Marble Hill; two sisters, Marjorie Grindstaff of Macomb, IL, Kathleen Yount of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

Preceding him in death was an infant brother, and two sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday May 20, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Graveside services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Myers officiating. Full Military honors will be provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
