Obituary:

Elvie E. Lambert, nee Clifton, age 88, of Cahokia, IL and formerly of Lutesville, MO, died on December 25, 2005 at Collinsville, IL. Mrs. Lambert was born October 17, 1917 at Lutesville, MO and married Evan E. Lambert November 24, 1939. She was a member of the General Baptist Faith and taught Sunday school classes for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Evan E. Lambert who died September 22, 1965; her parents Rhoba Burette and Mary Ann nee Hill Clifton; a brother Rhomie Clifton; two young sisters Elsie Jane and Geraldine Ann Clifton; and a granddaughter Christe Lynn Thompson.

Surviving are her son Rev. Gale (Barbara) Lambert of East Carondelet; a daughter Carol (Robert) Connolly of Collinsville; two granddaughters Ginger (Glen) Freeman of Catawissa, MO, and Anne Marie Connolly of Collinsville; four great grandchildren Ashley Thompson of Collinsville, Joshua Thompson of Dupo, and Michael and Brandon Krueger of Catawissa, two sisters Esther Harper and Dorothy Elfrink of Advance, MO; two brothers Wilfred (Jessie) Clifton of Oran, MO and Kerry Clifton of Marble Hill, MO and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2005, from 4:30 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roy Holland officiating, burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
