Obituary:

Arlen J Hurst, 78 years old of Benton, MO and formerly of Marble Hill, MO, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born November 21, 1930 at Clayton, MO, son of Joseph Rudolph and Clara Catherine Hilderbrand Hurst. He married Madeline Patricia West on Nov. 25, 1948 at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, MO.

Mr. Hurst was a retired Truck Driver, Farmer, a Lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus #4311, a member of the Marble Hill Lions Club, School Board member at Oran, and a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, MO.

Survivors include; his wife; Madeline of Benton, one son; Ronnie Hurst of Oran, two daughters; Kathy Jordan of Jackson, MO, Patti Morris of Oran, one sister; Shirley Young of Oran, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his parents, two twin sons, and a brother Richard Hurst.

Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 from 11:00 until the time of service.

The Funeral Service will be Monday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Phillip Jordan officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
