Obituary:

Carole Lorraine Stone, age 71, of Cape Girardeau passed away after a long battle with cancer Jan. 23, 2011 at Southeast Hospital, with her husband by her side. She was born Aug. 21, 1939, in Lutesville, Mo.; she was the oldest of six children born to Ferneita A. DuLaney Hahn and the late Willard R. Hahn. She and Jerry B. Stone were united in marriage Sept. 22, 1957.

Until her retirement, Carole was the office manager for Jerry B. Stone Accounting and Income Tax Service, and she was a member of First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include: her husband of 53 years, Jerry B. Stone of Cape Girardeau; one son, Todd (Lynn) Stone of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Shelia (Kevin) Pratt of High Ridge, Mo.; her mother, Ferneita Hahn of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Harold (Wilda) Hahn of Wentzville, Mo., Gary (Ruth) Hahn of Hillsboro, Mo., James (Connie) Hahn of Festus, Mo.; two sisters, Gail Halbert of Cape Girardeau, and Anita Smith (Joe Gray) of Evansville, Ind.; and nine grandchildren, Joshua (Laura) Pratt, Jonathan (Rachel) Pratt, Jacob (Elizabeth) Pratt, Jesse Pratt, Rachel Pratt, Jeremiah Pratt, Rebekah Pratt, Judah Pratt and Haley Stone.

She was preceded in death by her father; one infant daughter, Kimberly; and one infant grandson, Casey Stone.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill. Memorials may be made to the Marble Hill United Methodist Church.
