Obituary:
Franklin D. Whitesell 84, passed away on April 5, 2018 at his home in Marble Hill, MO.
He was born December 4, 1933 in Puxico, Missouri; son of Cecil and Esther Murdock Whitesell. He and Juanita Stephens were united in marriage on May 12, 1957.
Franklin served his country proudly during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Diachenko. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many and will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his wife Juanita of the Home; sons Scott Whitesell of Cahokia, IL; Stephen (Marcy) Whitesell of Dupo, IL; daughter Susie (Jerry) Fitzgibbons of Columbia, IL; three grandchildren Jeremy Fitzgibbons, Jason Fitzgibbons, and Brian Whitesell.
Proceeding him in death is his parents, son Shawn Whitesell, two sisters Francine Payne and Erline Whitesell.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Liley Funeral Home, in Marble Hill, MO.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Poole officiating. Burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery, near Marble Hill, MO.
