Obituary:

Dolores Faye Miller was born in Qulin, Missouri, on November 15, 1926, the daughter of Charles F. and Hazel Mae Gentzen Wilson Schreiner. She departed earthly life on July 28, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was 82 years, eight months and 13 days of age.

Dolores married Louis Woodrow Miller on May 2, 1942, shortly before he entered the Navy to fight during WW II. Following the war they made their home in Marble Hill.

Dolores began working for the Magistrate Court of Bollinger County. She became so proficient in this position that four consecutive judges relied on her administrative skills.

Throughout this time she and Louis were blessed with two children: William Louis Miller of Union, Mo., and Susan Elaine Lutes of Highland, Ill. Both remember their parent's affection for each other and how they worked together at home, in the yard, and in the garden. Dolores was a member of the Marble Hill United Methodist Church, serving as an organist and as a member of the Methodist women. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Following retirement from the courthouse, she began work with bookkeeping and tax preparation. Louis died Feb. 13, 2005, and Dolores' health declined.

She is survived by her children, Bill and Susan; a sister, Annalee Anderson of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Aaron Miller and A.J. Miller, II, April Huddleston, and Rebecca and Adam Lutes; and two great grandchildren: Cameron Huddleston and Wyatt Miller.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Oscar and Kenneth Schreiner, and sisters, Wilma Matthews, and Joanne Zimmerman.

Visitation is Thurs, July 30, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at the Marble Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. Virgil Bunch will officiate. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
