Obituary:

Pam Brown, 53, of Marble Hill passed away Friday, April 30, 2010, at her home in Marble Hill, after a tough fight with pancreatic cancer that started in December 2002.

She was born Oct. 25, 1956, at St. Louis, the daughter of Harold L. and M. Louise Riddle Brown.

Pam will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a "tell it like it is" person and was always wanting to help whoever was in need if she could. She loved to spend time with her wonderful man, whether in the garden, planting flowers, traveling or just sitting on the deck watching the fish pond. All this she loved as long as it was with Moe.

Her cats were her kids. She dearly loved all cats and loved birdwatching. She had a great spirit and sense of humor and could laugh in the face of adversity. A truly wonderful partner, daughter, sister and friend.

Pam graduated from Jennings High School in St. Louis in 1975 and attended the St. Louis Police Academy. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She worked at Mercantile Bank in St. Louis before moving to Jackson in 1979. She was an active real estate agent and worked for LensCrafters then Troy Bell Family Eye Care as a certified optician. She also volunteered at the St. Louis Iron Mountain Railroad and was a member of the Jackson Lions Club.

Pam is survived by her longtime partner, Moe Jones of Marble Hill; her mother, Louise Brown of Jackson; three brothers, Clay (Sue) Brown of St. Louis, Louis (Pat) Brown of Highland, Ill., and Carl (Cindy) Brown of Marble Hill; three sisters, Mona (Steve) Ramponi of Florida, Theresa (Sam) Farrow and Liz (Kelly) Fluegge, both of Jackson; 16 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. William Hennecke officiating.

Memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary.
