Obituary:

Wathena Maria Allgood, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Dupo, Ill., daughter of Avery Hamilton and Minnie Meissner Abernathy. She married Waldo E. Allgood June 28, 1941, in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death April 25, 1999.

Wathena was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a wife, mother, and grams, all her life. (Dearly loved and blessed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. We will miss you very much but we know that our Lord is rejoicing in your return home.)

Survivors include three daughters, Jan Holshouser and Tana McLaird of Cape Girardeau, Marta Jones of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Bonnie McNeil of St. Louis, Delores Lynn of Dearborn, Mich.; four grandchildren, Marcy Davidson of Jefferson City, Mo., Dane McLaird of Tan-Tara, Mo., April Ford of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ryan Jones of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be Friday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home, with Pastor Art Hunt officiating. Inurnment will be in Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery near Marble Hill.
