Obituary:

Audrey Evelyn Beard, age 94, of Marble Hill, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital, in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 23, 1912 at Scopus, MO daughter of Jesse F. and Doshie Jane Barnett Long. She and Walter Beard were united in marriage on March 27, 1932 and he died on July 27, 1977.

Mrs. Beard was a Jehovah Witness and a homemaker.

She is survived by one son Gilbert Beard of Marquand, MO, five daughters Shirley Probst, June Lincoln, Gladys Glover Mary Tyler all of Marble Hill, Gloria Hoxworth of Oak Ridge, MO, one sister Ruby Roe of East Alton, IL, 32 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, three sons J. W., Darris, and Harold, 2 brothers Woodrow and Shelby Long, and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
