Daniel William Griffin Jr., age 43, of Bridgeton, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, as a result of a motorcycle accident near Fredericktown, Mo.

He was born Oct. 9, 1957, at Clayton, Mo., son of Daniel W. Griffin and Imogene R. Thele.

He was the owner of Griffin backhoe service in St. Louis.

Survivors include his father of Overland; his mother, Imogene Carter, Bridgeton; grandmother, Violet Griffin, Overland; sister, Donna Lewis, Hazelwood; step-brothers, Butch Carter, St. Louis, Darin Carter, Lake St. Louis, a half-brother, Shawn Griffin, St. Charles; his fiancee, Wendy Neilsen and her daughter, Jessica Nielsen, both of Bridgeton; two nephews, Dan and Jay Lewis of Hazelwood.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dave Griener and Pastor John Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
