Obituary:
Imogene R. Thele Carter, 71, of Bridgeton, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at her home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Leopold, daughter of Henry John and Matilda Ann Koenig Thele. She and Norman Eugene Carter Sr. were married May 30, 1970.
Imogene worked as a car hop for Steak-N-Shake, was a member of Trinity Tabernacle in St. Louis and attended Haven of Hope Pentecostal Church in Marble Hill, Mo.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Carter of Bridgeton; a daughter, Donna Lewis of Hazelwood, Mo.; two stepsons, Norman Carter Jr. of Edmundson, Mo., Darin Carter of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; four brothers, John Henry Thele of Scopus, Mo., Robert Richard Thele of Jackson, Henry Edward Thele of Fruitland, Kenneth Fred Thele of Glennon, Mo.; three sisters, Evelyn M. Conner of Festus, Mo., Gerline D. Trentham of Licking, Mo., Judy L. Stause of Glennon; two grandsons; and five stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daniel Griffen Jr.; three brothers, Bill, Rich, Jake; and two sisters, Marcella and Juletta.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Wells and the Rev. Al Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
