Obituary:

Obituary for Roy Lee Bennett Roy Lee Bennett, age 88, of Versailles, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at his home. Roy was born June 19, 1933, in Advance, Missouri, son of the late James and Ella (Arnold) Bennett. On October 18, 1952, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Hazel Iona Jackson. He was a loving husband for sixty-nine years and together they raised two sons, David and Wendell. In the 1960’s, he received his license to minister. He pastored many churches over the years with twelve years spent at the Versailles First Assembly of God Church. Roy was a member of the Southern Missouri District. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and serving the Lord. Roy faithfully fulfilled his calling with a spirit filled heart. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, Hazel, he is survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sons, David and Wendell. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 4th, at the Versailles First Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m., at the church. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 5th, at Bollinger County Memorial Park in Lutesville, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Versailles First Assembly of God Church. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
