Obituary:

Ruby Lambert, 93, of Advance passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo.

She was born Aug. 27, 1915, at Zalma, Mo., daughter of Jim and Willie Drum Shell.

Ruby was an active lifelong member of Zalma Baptist Church. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker and farm wife. She was an avid gardener, loved to cook and bake, and entertaining family and friends was one of her favorite activities.

Ruby and Charlie Lambert were married Jan. 28, 1939, at Zalma. He preceded her in death in January 1996.

Survivors include three sons, Darrel Lambert of Dexter, the Rev. Dale Lambert of Wildwood, Mo., Kenneth Lambert of Germantown, Tenn.; four grandchildren; Daniel Lambert, Dana Wells, Alicia Lambert and Matthew Lambert; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Isaac Wells.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dale Lambert and Dale Fish officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill, Mo.
